Today was a decent day overall. We had an incredible nurse last night and we both slept for about 12 hours. It was much needed! Alex hasn’t felt great today overall and has been struggling with increased nausea likely due to the anesthesia yesterday. His surgery sites look good and he isn’t in much pain. The culture they took through a peripheral stick was negative which confirms that the infection was localized to that pocket of pus next to his port.
I am even more swollen today then I was yesterday and the swelling is sore and uncomfortable, but not unbearable. I left Alex for a short time today and went home to see Maddy and take a shower. Maddy was SO happy to see me and then I dropped her off at a birthday party for one of the girls she rides with. She had a great time. She cannot wait for us to come home. These hospitalizations are hard on her.
Speaking of home….Please say some prayers we can get home health working quickly. As soon as we can get medication at home we can be discharged. We are hoping to get home late in the day tomorrow, but it will more likely be on Tuesday.
Alex and i are hoping to get another good night of sleep tonight.
