First an update on Alex...We think we may have an idea what has been causing his weight gain. As I am sure many of you have noticed after struggling to gain weight his entire life he has gained 50 pounds in the past 14 months. He has continued to gain despite dropping calories from his TPN (IV nutrition) 5 times over the past 4 months. We have been racking our brains trying to figure out what could be going on. This week we realized we made a med change last July which correlates with when the weight gain really took off. It has a known side effect of weight gain so we have begun the process of weaning off this medication. It will take 6 weeks to be totally off. Please pray that he does okay with the wean as this medication treats pain and neuropathy.
The other issue we have been dealing with is Alex's central line and it not functioning correctly. We did an x-ray this week and it may be out of place. We have a surgery consult on Wednesday to determine if we need to replace his line or what the next steps are.
On Good Friday we did our annual bluebonnet pictures. Tina outdid herself this year and the pictures are fabulous! I love that she knows the kids well enough to know and capture their personalities!
