Beach Week

 AS soon as Maddy's performance was done we rushed to the airport for our first trip to Myrtle Beach since 2019.  When Mimi and PopPop were living there, we always spent 3 weeks to a month at the beach. We have really missed it. What we discovered is it is really hard to fit 3 weeks of fun and favorites into 6 days!!!But we gave it a really good go! Luckily the kids felt really good the whole trip so we were able to have a really fun time!

Maddy's Recital

 Maddy's Spring Performance was the same day we left for the beach so I didn't get a chance to post any pictures! The theme was a Circus. Alex helped out as the ringmaster and of course Maddy was a horse! She danced beautifully and was a little less nervous this go round! While she has still been doing private lessons, she danced with a friend that she has known for several years! It was fun for her to have a partner this time instead of being solo! We are so grateful for Joli and all the love she pours into her dancers and the encouragement to let each one be THEIR best!

Oh my precious Alex-

I cannot believe you turn 18 today. What a crazy, unpredictable, amazing 18 years we have had! You my son are a miracle of God. You have fought so hard and beaten the odds. So many times we were told this day could never happen. So many nights I prayed for God to spare your life and allow me to borrow you just a little longer. Our relationship is so different than most mothers and sons. We have walked side by side almost every minute of your life. We have shared so much heartbreak, but also so many joyful moments and created so many memories. You are so smart and so funny and such a caring brother, son and friend. You so badly want this world to be a better a place. You love to discuss philosophy and religion and debate just about anything. I have no doubt that God created to do big things in this world. As you step into this next phase of life, I pray that you always choose joy, that you make incredible friends and you remember to lean on your faith through the hard times. I am grateful every single day that God blessed me by choosing me to be your mother. I love you, Bug!
