Both Good and Bad

I'll start with the good because it is so much more fun. Sunday we met some good friends at the Dallas zoo and we had a blast. The weather at this time of the year is perfect. Here are a bunch of pictures from our day.

As you can see Alex had a great time with Reagan and Riley. It is so neat to get to spend time with friends. Tuesday we had a cub scout meeting and Alex had so much fun playing with the boys. Watching him enjoy life so fully right now really warms my heart.
Now for the not so good... Alex's new seizure med is not working very well. He is having seizures every day. It is frustrating for me to see him struggling. I am hopeful we will get a grip on this quickly. Other then the seizures Bug is doing ok healthwise. We continue to try and get him back to his energy/strength baseline that took such a hit with his last illness.
*******This is just a vent (feel free to ignore it)*******
One of the things that I love about having a blog is the ability to put my thoughts down on "paper". For me writing out my feelings helps me process through them. So on to my vent...I am so stressed right now. The financial strain we have been under for the last two years is taking its toll on me. I am constantly worrying about how we will continue to provide for Alex (and ourselves) and enjoy fun experiences when I feel like we are in a deep hole that we can't get out of. I am having trouble sleeping and have been having headaches. I am trying to hold true to my beliefs that God is in control and has GREAT things ahead for us. Please pray for me to be strong and BELIEVE that things will improve.
As always, we feel so blessed to have such incredible friends and family in our lives.

Your faith through this financial journey has been amazing...and you will make it to the other side. You are a great mom and provide for Alex in EVERY single way.

  5. LOVE the pics of Alex, so glad you all had such a great time together, those girls are too adorable!

Sorry to hear about the seizures, I pray they can do something else to keep them under control. I understand the stresses especially when it comes to financial issues, we're in the same boat, never easy. I pray you find sometime to yourself, even just an overnight getaway can bring some calmness to our lives. (overnight if we can find someone to feed Jack!) BIGGEST hugs and always prayers---

  6. The pictures are Marvelous!

I'm so sorry that you are having financial problems. We are too over here, but, thankfully things finally seem to be lightening up. I hope that everything starts falling into place and that you are able to get caught up soon.

About the seizures... does he take his through the stomach or IV? I know over here, Q's seizure meds aren't being absorbed well through the stomach. Right now, we aren't seeing very many seizures, thank goodness! but if we start seeing more, we have to find a better way to give her the seizure meds.

HUGS to you and sweet Alex!

  7. I love the pictures Ali, it is so great to see Alex enjoying time with friends. I hope the seizures start settling down. I do know what you are going through with the financial strain. It's not enough to deal with our children who struggle to get through the day but to add financial worries is even harder. Do know that you are not alone in that area and we are all here anytime you need to vent. Hugs and prayers to you and your cutie pie.
